my thought on the subject is that a dump valve has a spring in it that keeps it closed. the spring force has to be overcome by a difference in pressure for the dump valve to open. that normally happens when you still have boost pressure one side of a closed throttle, and vacuum the other side of it.

with ALS activated, you don't have that pressure difference due to the bigger bypass valve, so the dump valve will probably stay shut (depending on the spring force).

am i right?
