Default LSD BOX clonk clonk!

Need help!
When i select reverse in my ERST and start reversing back there is a nasty loud clunk clunk clunk noise coming from the front end and the car shakes about as its reversing seems to be worse when u lock the steering over. Ive had a few people say its the LSD but i have just had the box rebuilt for the second time with a new diff and it still makes the horried noise. Anyone got any ideas what could be the cause of it??

are the drive shafts slotted in correctly
jack the car up and spin the wheels to c if they are free moving
or to check that the g/b is not making any noise

The drive shafts are in properly, the noise seems to be coming from the g/b area, i wondered if the clutch could be failing. But surly it would make a noise when going farwards to?

It only seems to judder when going backwards. I did not do the work on the gear box so i did not see the clutch .But the mechanic that did it would have cheaked it i would have thought.
