Thats pretty grim Looks to me like he swerved to miss two people out on the road to take a photo, which ment he lost it and plouded into ALL those people, fuck me there was a lot of folk there! Terrible.

 

remember just catching tail end all the rallying as a 4 year old just as it got banned in 1986!!!!group b rules,thats wen they were real drivers!!!!

loved the audi, sounds amazing! those drivers were propper drivers, not like nowadays, no electronics and true propper power! RIP

 

thats horrible, Group B was the business tho. RIP Toivonen, him and Ari Vatanen were legends.

 

I hadn't seen one of the other videos on there of Toinvonen's crash shown externally, falling through all the trees and turning into a rolling fireball. It was indeed Toivonen's crash, not the RS200's, that ended Grp B. His co-driver was killed too, just look at the car - nothing but a spaceframe with brakes, pedals and a couple of burnt heat exchangers hanging off the back

thats harsh, rip Toivonen, neither had a chance in tht crash, i remember on one of clarksons vids seeing a clip of gropu b audi, there was just fans all in the road tryin to see it, they just moved as it pretty much came through them, f*kin stupid,
mind you it was good seeing all the group b cars out again, metro and audi sound awsome, t16 evo 2 is mental, RS200 the best

 

The RS200 was also involved in a fatal accident. Marc Surer's co driver died in that crash.

that vid of a car rolling down the hill cant be toivonens car, cos u can clearly see sum1 running from the wreckage, when in reality toivonen and his co driver were both killed in the incident, trapped in the car. and i doubt there are any vids of the actual incident, as to this day it is still unknown how it happened, all thats known is the car left the road and the underside mounted fuel cell caught fire. very sad loss of life anyways

group B was banned due to all the incidents as a whole, with the toivonen death just bringin it to a head. having F1 speeds on gravel was always gna end in tears, however cool it was to watch
