Default What master cylinder on mk3 escort

Recently upgraded my mk3 brakes to s2 up front and noticed the brake pedal had a bit more travel. Then this friday upgraded to 4x4 cos callipers and 2wd discs and now the pedal is even worse. Never had this problem on the s2 when I did it though. Is it a case that the master cylinder bore is to small and needs a larger one to push the larger calliper piston? I was told that the latest mk4 master cylinder has the biggest cylinder is this true?

It has 29 written on it, does it make any difference that it has the galvanized servo not the later black one?

I have 2wd Cossie rear brakes, AP CP6600 4 pot calipers and 315mm front brakes on a standard 22 cylinder and black servo. All were new 2 years ago.

My car has phenominal brakes that are scary! I do not have the bottle to brake late enough to use them to their full effect. I end up braking then lifting off and coasting to the corner.
