Default Fuck sake, car stalled today and would not start.

There I was, happily plodding along, and the thing dies on me, fire it up again, 3 seconds, stalls..

What the hell I think?

Push it up out of the road and go to take a look, expecting something minor.

Get under the bonnet.. nothing, everything looks fine.

Fuel pump isn't priming.. why? Anyway, ordered a new relay in the end hoping its that. if not it could be the pump.. but dunno..

Plugs, leads and coilpack are fine..

does the fiesta have a odd positioned fuel pump relay like the escorts have? might be loose or knackered! or if u have a fuel cut off like my Zetec S it might be triggering or faulty!

prob the green relay, maybe a fues to the pump has blown.

somethims the cut off switch plays up, although it could still be on it may of gone dry, ive come across it on a few fords ive worked on, just a case of pull the switch up, push it down back into on postion, do that a few times to make sure.

its located behind the passange kick trim under the dash.

or could be that your out of fuel? maybe the sender isnt working right?

i would also check the plug on the tank, give it a little spray with some WD40.

Whip your back seat up and remove the wiring plug to th epump and see if it's getting voltage. If not remove the passenger side kick plate and bypass the inertia switch and see if you then get a reading. If you don't start looking at the relays if you do then you need to sort a new one out.

Turned out to be this on my brothers FRST a few weeks ago.

Nobody mentioned a bad earth, all I said was alternator, as in the alternator is shagged possible, cos it cut out, wouldnt start back and your battery is dead.

Plus you be having probs with the fuel pump not priming

Sorry meant I had found the source, a bad earth in the boot, connecting to the rear panel.
