Default Car Audio Advice needed please....

Looking at replacing the ford 6disc in my focus with a dvd/ipod/nav combo. I've seen this double din system but never really been into car audio so don't really know if it's any good!

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/4716.html

This seems to be the cheapest shop to buy it from £1150ish with the ipod adaptor. Are there any other options I should be considering? (preferably cheaper ones!! )

Cheers

Bish

I don't know alot about this sort of stuff, but the main problem I see with the Kenwood double-DIN stuff is the security aspect. I'm sure it doesn't allow the front to be removed or 'Masked'.

The Pioneer units are nice.

Yes that one its fuckin Ub3R!!

I used to work as a car audio installer and went to a semnar (sp) where they demo'd that unit and everyone there said how good it is..

Its ipod compatible and has the fastest scroll / refresh rate and is the easiest to navigate through genre's / artists etc

The security aspect will always be there as none of them mask but so long as it insured who cares

See if you can get it cheaper from www.caraudiocentre.com bud.

What do you want double din for you homo

Get a normal one, like Mr C said and you wont have it on display all the time......

"Look at me, i have a cinema screen in my dash!" And it WILL get nicked

Get a normal single din and it'll hide away and just look like a normal stereo when un used with the removeable face plate. And i can fit it too....... for a nominal charge

That one i told you about the other week was very good for the pennies

You don't know Bish like i do + he can settle the debt in beer

Single dins might be for homos but in a FRS you dont need to advertise anymore than you need to.

Like Christian, i'd go for a Pioneer or maybe even an Alpine. I'd rather not say which one i'd mentioned as its from Halfrauds

NEVER buy audio from hellfrauds, the markup is criminal

This Kenwood Unit is about the best for the price. The Navigation software it uses is the best on the market. Navteq also no software disc to get scratched or damaged as its all done on a hard drive Alpine do make some very nice Navigation systems but they can be a bit expensive.
As for the Pioneer avic x1 bt the navigation softwares not as good.

If its the same size as the unit in the focus st then its slightly bigger than double din and will require a facia plate available from ford for around £20

I ment the new ST

If you do get rid of your standard unit these retail at around £300 iirc from ford, hence why there's been a sudden surge in thefts.

Howcomes no one has actually you can't have a double din player in your Focus as the standard hole isn't double din in size? Cos it's not! It's more like 1.6din size... Which is hella annoying as I was gonna put a Kenwood double din unit in my van so I had minidisc and CD playback, with aux line in's for an MP3 player aswell... But then found out that it wasn't a double din hole

May well do that on Monday mate

Going to go for a single-din unit now anyway and I've found a full fascia so it should still look pretty standard
