scottp's bro:

i cant believe you havent put the RBS down, its the second largest bank in europe! sorry we get that drilled into us at training, lol!
it is quite impressive actually how large the RBS group is!

Simon: i do find RBS are quite lenient with charges, lol. some banks are a lot more strict! But if you watch your account properly (closely, lol) then charges wont even happen!

I work and obviously bank there (staff rates rule) and i find the customer service is quite good!

so get that in the list! lol

Personally im with Yorkshire bank. Been with them since i can remember and TBH im with them because im that used to it... i prefer it that way..
They dont do the best saving interest rates, but i dont save anyways. Savings for people who dont think they could die tommorow pmsl

But, business wise im with Barclays. Just seemed to offer good service. Ill let ya know how good after april lol!

Been with Halifax all my life with personal accounts and am only staying with them the fact it will help me when getting a mortgage (having banked with one organisation for years). I personally think they are shite, branches are unhelpful locally, they shut early on Saturdays, my online banking and telephone banking never works (they keep telling me to go into a branch to sort my id etc out so i do, go home, login again and it still dont work!! - given up now!!).

My business account is Lloyds and have so far had no problems with them!

Natwest, but they are all the same, just depends on the person you are dealing with. some are human and some are jobs worths that think they are better than you, but you get that in every walk of life.

Im with Halifax and Natwest. Ive never had any problems with Halifax, they handled an incident where my card was cloned really well. Natwest on the other hand have been utter shit. They mess up all the time, used to hassle me for money to be paid in when i was a student (i was Ł500 overdrawn which is bugger all compared to the Ł2.5k overdraft they advertise). Halifax didnt complain once so now they get all my wages now. I find there online banking to be excellent as well.

Been with HSBC since I was 13, they have been spot on everytime I have needed them for something. At one point many years ago the Bank Manager of my local branch went well out of his way to threaten legal action against a Company who had taken me and my friend for a ride.

Since then i´ve had no problems at all with them, although more recently its started to bug me that they have moved their call centre to India, difficult to have a decent conversation with them now so I tend to do everything by online banking these days.

Mortgage is with Abbey, cant fault them on their interest rates, but i´d never have a Bank Account with them just purely from their treatment to friends of mine.

HSBC & Nationwide. No agg with either but Nationwide won't let you pay a bill with cash or any other cheque than their own which is fucking stupid. They're a bank FFS.............

HSBC - just greedy thieving bastards. No problems with them apart from Bangladeshi call centres but no trouble to me.

HSBC and first direct.. .

HSBC have been ok apart form hammering me with charges at every opportunity (they'll be sorry mwahahahaha) and first direct have been absolutely superb all along.. which is kind of ironic since they're the same company...
