If its an S2 it came through your battery tray, in under the glovebox and runs into the rear passenger footwell, theres little holes in the seat mountings and all the water collects there.

Get it under cover, or when its dry and take the carpet out the front, pour some water in and see where its coming through and fill it up.

After crashing my Orion (many years ago) it was parked on a slope at the garage, when I came back the next day the rear drivers side footwell had 2 inches of water in it and I hadnt a clue where it came from, the carpet went all mouldy too. nice!

Keith - exactly the same prob with my 3i, and I thought it was window seal, so took glass out and re-sealed the rubbers. Nope.....

then thought ti was battery tray, so had it checked out.. Nope.....

Turns out to be a tiny hole less than an inch square in the rear passenger footwell, jsut where the bi that goes under the rear seat curves down and turns into the passenger footwell. Got it patched for Ł20 of me local auto welder bloke and no probs since then

or, quite possibly, one of your "housemates" were climbing out the car, and accidently farted, showering your floor with a mix of semen and anal lube?

Had this on my car and it was water coming thru the rear clusters! I know 100% it was because i sat in the car while my g/friend hose'd it!! Whacked on some silicon sealer and it's been fine ever since Keith, is your driveway sloped?
