Default Sky digital multiroom

I'm instaling a second sky box in the house and someone told me i'll need a phone line connected constantly to the 2nd box. Is this true ? I disconected the line to the first box after they installed it.

Thats the job I feared wrecking the house trying and run a phone line to the back of the TV. Won't be doing the PPV thing anyhow. Cheers Benn.

if you want a multiroom subscription you need to have both boxes connected to the phone at all times... its in the contract
the boxes phone home randomly to check there at the same address, so you cant have two subsriptions for the price of one and a bit...
Sky have just found me out, as my two boxes are in different houses now.. although it did take them 6 months
if your not subscribing, or going free view you'll be fine

In fact the Sky fitter who installed it all said it doesn't matter if you connect or not. They would never cut you off as they need all the subscriptions they can get, so just ignore it. I have had Sky since it started and never had a phone line connected in all that time.
