Default what have i done now ??????????

broke my std ford engine mounts at croft so me and gracie replaced them with some collins ones, everything seemed ok again ie no engine vibration thru the car etc

driving upto leeds last night and its back only more violent

could an engine mount have gone in only 6 days ?

Don't think them mounts would have broken Matt.

has got to be the front drive shaft.

did you check the tri-bearing on your car as when the engine mounts fook up,they tend to fook the bearing up too.

drive your car on full lock, see if it makes the noises.

Sorry Matt, i had to go out.

the tri-bearing is at the end of the drivers drive shaft.

have to take the anti-roll of the hub,ta and steering arm,all off the hub and pull the drive shaft from the front diff.

take the ties off the cv boot and the bearings are in there full of grease.

any more you need to know Matt, give me a bell.

Dave Cos4x4 is spot on I reckon - I had a similar problem on mine- Drivers side CV joint / tri bearing fell apart, fixed that, then found the engine mount on the driver's side was also buggered.

Now got Collins ones on the car, from Matt Lewis (Cheers fella )

Ł50 gets you the new tri bearing from Woodford Garage if you need it....

if it is this tri bearing thats gone, is it safe to drive at low speeds still ?

just to add the vibration is only there when youre foot is on the acc, as soon as you take it off and coast it disapears

Matt,

that sounds like the front prop.

jack it up and see if there is any play in the front prop i.e it moves at the knuckle, it should all be tight.

check that first as its easier.

Matt,

if you need a hand i will be willing to pop down, should not take long.

don't want anyone to pay for garages.

got to make sure what it s first so we can fix it there and then.

I showed you when you was at mine

jack under gearbox, undo the nut on the mount where it comes thru the cradle and jack the box up.

you'd know if that was gone Matt, the rear prop would have followed suit rather quickly
