MK2 XR2
Hi all,
Due to a massive change in life (quit my job of 12 years last night!) my XR2 is up for sale. Will also be selling my 1997 328i convertible BMW
The previous owner was a 72 year old chap that got car on 13-6-1993. About a year ago he took for an MOT and it failed on a couple of bits. He parked car up and basically didnt do anything with it as i think he didnt want to drive anymore but didnt want to part with car. I got car from him and did the MOT work.
Right the car, 1988 XR2 in rosso red. 87k miles from new with 15 MOT forms to back up mileage (some years it did 500 miles!).
The interior can only be described as mint, original stereo, uncut parcel shelf, no sagging on seats or door cards, no marks or wear. No holes in dash for mobile phone holders or the like.
The exterior is very very good, no dints or rust. Dead straight panels. It has had at some point a full respray by the looks of it with all kit removed to do it. There are a few small blebs on roof in front of sunroof which is the only bad bit (have pics to email). Wheels are mint and it had 4 tyres 150 miles ago, spares mint. Bottom lip of both doors completly MINT as is the tailgate lip (both prone areas). Has had welding in the past for MOT's but nothing too bad and all neat, inner wings VERY good. Boot floor 100% solid.
The car drives like new, smooth and quiet. The CVH engine has NO lifter rattle at all, its very very quiet from cold or hot and there is NO smoke at all. The car had a new (not recon) carb about 18 months ago and still has the original auto-choke fitted that normally play up and it works 100% fine as it should. Its only had synthetic oil since 1993 every 3k or so. Its had new pads and shoes for MOT
1 key fits all locks.
Jobs i've done on it,
Stem seals
New gearbox cradle mounts
Plugs/Airfilter
Oil and filter (good quality oil)
Price is £950, cars in Derby. Heres some pics..
