hiya guys, ive got a zetec turbo in my 2litre mondeo

my coolant pipe burst on the m25 and my hg is fooked, alot of people have been telling me to get the thicker 1.5mm hg, but ive heard that the standard ford item is the best?i want to run 13psi max and i really dont want the head gasket to give way again, so im looking to uprate as many things as i can afford at the moment

any suggestions would be great

(not posted this in the other cars bit as its very rare to find anyone with a turbo'd mondeo)

 

For the 1600 CVH turbo the ford item can't be bettered. But for yours, it all depends on your budget really. A Focus WRC number would take mega boost, but it's £400 quid. Get in touch with ferriday engineering, they supply copper h/g's in varing thicknesses

 

Do you have a HG either side of the decompression plate, or just one, or just a decompression plate as a gasket?

i dont even have a decomp plate at the moment, its the first time the head has been opened, so the best way would be to have a decomp plate between 2 standard hg's?
