Default timing for managment for cvh

hope somebody can help

just blown my second cvh turbo motor , now fitting efi manifold from xr3i and fitting programmable management

my previous setup as follws:
1.6 cvh bored to 80.6mm
mitsubishi tredia/vortex 1.8L pistons(6:1 cr)
garret t3(o.48)T4(0.60)
dellorto dhla(h) 40mm sidies
cvh 22 cam modified for turbo use
developing 150kw on wheels , 2 bar with street fuel
1/4mile 14.9s @ 155km/hr(traction problems) , 194kmh on 1 km
copper 6 paddle clutch

i recently destroyed another set of rings and destroyed the lands on piston 3 , timing way to advanced!!!

i have a efi inlet manifold from a ford crate motor and will probably use a Dicktator mangement system(zar2,100.00 , why are your computers so pricey?)i will modify the dizzy with(gulp)Golf parts using the hall pickup and chopper(by the way , i am using golf mk2 jumbo door mirrors)
Anyway , my car will never see a mechanics shop except for final dyno setup.

My question is:
what are the timing figures for high boost setup(2 bar)
what size injectors?

thanks

6:1 compression is far too low. Also, who are the pistons made by?

Timing figures are completely down to the individual engine - injector choice is down to the power output u wish to attain.

cr of 6:1 is low , suffers below 2k , monster above 3k!
i love boost and these pistons take 2 bar no problem
cant remember the make
i may take 2 mill of the head to up the cr , aparently management battles with low cr's?

WTF? You say your motor will never see a mechanics shop? Yet you plan to make 6:1CR work? Why would ANYONE ever want a CR that low?

Mine is nothing like that low, it is low 7's and I run 30psi and around 320bhp (290bhp atw). Some would say my CR is too low.

Sorry to be negative, but I think you may have some expensive learning ahead of you.....

Some of which has already happened with your broken rings/ring-lands.

I personally wouldnt say 6:1 CR was too low, depends on engine spec/turbo spec etc

Although, you dont seem to have much KW (204bhp) is achievable with not a huge spec on a std compression, so i wonder why such low compression with such high boost when it's not needed?

If I was going to run 6:1, I would probably want to weld the head/manifolds on and run 4-bar of boost.

I know little about engines but 6:1 seems excessive.

And, to be fair, Christian is the mentalist that successfully runs 30 psi with a standard gasket and bolts, he has to be doing something right

6:1 is 40psi plus territory. You sure these pistons are good? As they have already gone once....

the pistons are good , i recently fitted an air/fuel probe with an autoguage meter which read lean at high boost. as my previous motor ran for 3 years with hard strip abuse, i thought the meter was talking shite!
oops...

did some calcs today , i need to remove 3mm of my block to get a cr of 7.1:1

would i ned to fit a vernier?

The CVH 22 cam is totally wrong. And how else would you time in the cam without a vernier?

Rick

understand that the cvh is not liked down here , most wankers drive zuped up golfs!

to import cams from your side at a 12:1 exchange rate , these prices are crazy. We are forced to do some weird things!

the guys i used have taken a cvh 22 cam and modified for turbo use reducing overlap - my car pulled to 7k with it , bit of a hole below 2k
it works , you cant here the cam at idling , nice and smooth and idles at 800rpm

it will pull - just be a bit laggy. I'd use a vernier and maybe advance the timing slightly to help combat the poor choice of cam.

did a cr test and one of the cylinders was at 20psi
