hi i have a 4x4 saff and i think the dipstick has been swapped at some stage ,i get another one from a 4x4 and it still wont fit the hole all the way any ideas please as i can tell how much oil the car should have
also can anyone tell me how muh oil it takes thanks

if you cant get a dip stick to fit, when you do a oil change, messure out the right amount of oil and put it in, after it has drained through, pull the dip stick and mark where the level is then file a notch in where the "max" should be, allow 1mm or so as the level will drop when engine runs as it will fill the new oil filter. and then set a "min" mark say 5-10mm below that, then it dont matter about the dipstick you have, it will be right

got the oil marked up now but still want the right dipstick,i have a plastic yellow one and one from a 4x4 as well little diffrance in lenght but the main thing is the one on the car has had the plastic shaved down to fit the hole the the new one does not fit at all,just things if it nees a 2 wheel or early one as mine is a h reg 4x4

The dip stick tubes are different on 2wd and 4x4

so u need tube and dip for a 4x4

i wonder if it has a 2wd tube ?? might need to try again

 

ah i was up the other end near the old fairy building.

that was 10 years ago i moved mate so wont know ya house

when im up scrappy i will see what seirras they have and get the dip sticks from them
