As an employee of HM Revenue & Customs

Been here 5 years, not that long in the grand scale of things but the longest i've had a job since leaving school And i'm 30 now

Felt weird emptying out my locker's yesterday and handing back my cuffs, warrant/i.d. wallet, utility belt (cue the gags!) but i spose i'm going to miss the people more than the job itself as its really gone down hill here now....

Morale(sp) is at its lowest with everyone here, i know i'm doing the right thing but making a move on while i have no really commitments like a family.......

So pastures new are awaiting for me, i just gotta go and find them

Yeap, now i know what your going to say mate! In my defence i do have a fair few catagories on my driving licence so getting some sort of work won't be too hard.

Its just a stop gap until i decide what it is i really wanna do with my life.

I'll find out today what's happening with the job. Don't really want to spend a week in Aylesbury at a time. I'd miss people too much, and me old man said last night that after doing a hard day's graft, going back to a hotel room will bore me shitless so i'll end up going out spending money i've not got. And I can't expect anyone to drive up and see me

So, I'l inquire about maybe becoming a network engineer with the firm. If that's a no go, then I'll be offski

I'll get 3 years redundancy out of them with a bit of luck.

i was in same position with job in c&e too. i was there for 4 years.
got new job before i left and haven't looked back since. the people in old job were great. just work load was getting lighter. i don't like sitting about twiddling my thumbs!

 

Goodluck Paul, im sure your be able to find some work until you decide what you want to do permantly. I left a big company 3 yrs ago after working for this company for 9 yrs, I had serious doubts if it was the right decision at the time but it turned out the best decision of my life!

Good luck Billy as you no i left BT after 8 years ok i got a big pay out but its scary as hell hey Going into the unknown lol I had a temp job lined up at toyota/ lexus finacial services and after 2 months got a permanent job there im on better money and am so much happier than i ever was a BT so glad i took the jump! Im sure your be the same

It's a good things to know a variety of jobs, look at my Dad, you'll get every where knows loads.
