Ant, as you look through the perspex window of the phase sensor (it's fitted where the dizzy is on other Cossies), you will see the white section that is HIGH or the LOW section (also white).......it is like the top of a castle. Anyway, as you turn the pulley (clockwise) look through the perspex to see when the high section is JUST starting to end (before it becomes low) as it passes the marker line, that is the EXACT point for correct phase setting.
Difficult to explain in words, but you will see what I'm getting at in practice - good luck

Yes there is a marking in the middle of the sight glass, as you turn the pulley slowly clockwise by hand, notice that the circular part beneath the sight glass has a half section that is raised (high) and the other half is lower. The correct phase point is exactly as the raised part just starts to run past the sight glass marking.
