Default 1.8i zetec - 105bhp or 130bhp ? *engine picture*

I just bought a 92 fiesta 1.8i zetec. And my question is now, how many bhp does it have? Anyway i can see that on the engine somehow.

Just wondering beacause a friend of mine who is a mechanic says it got 130, but on the web it says 105

just got a picture of the engine. (taken by cellphone)
Dont mind my temporary waterhose solution

Check te internal size of the throttle body. If its is 59/60mm then it is the 130 engine. If it is smaller it is the 105. I think you will find only the RS1800s where fitted with the 130 1800 zetec.

Take the black intake pipe off & measure the inside of the throttle body. If its flat, its a 130. If its tapered, its a 105.
XR2i's r 105 & RS1800i's r 130.

Both engines look the same. They r the same except the 130 has different cams, ecu, throttle body, injectors & little oil injectors under each piston. Some 1 told me the air flow meter is different but i dont think so.

I suspect the MAFs are different, just because they might look physically the same doesn't mean that they are calibrated the same. The Mondeo 1.8l BLOB, SACK and SEAL MAFs are different from the Fiesta 1.8l 2FCD MAF.

all xr2i's are 105 spec.
even if its got 130 throttle body its probably still got the 105 cams and ecu.
take the ecu out from under the dash on passengers side.
if it ends in cd its a 105
if it ends in bc its 130

That's definately not a 130PS.. you can tell quite clearly by looking at the inlet manifold!

so true, the inlet manifolds have a larger internal diameter on the rs1800

that clearly shows the differences

well i think its more a case of ford using different castings for different years, i have broken 15 zetecs and 6 130's and they have all been the same appart from two l reg ones i had.
1 l reg had the smaller ports but it was 1.6, 1 l reg was a fiesta and the casting saying efi was rough and looks terrible quality.

If the car has Disc brakes on the Rear, then its 130

PS> only RS1800s were the 130 spec zetec in fiestas

Just checked the ECU, and it ends in CD

So i guess it only has 105bhp! And yes, it aint got disc breaks on the rear

Can anyone help me how to covert it to a 130bhp version then? Cause then i can take a look at the local crapyard later this week for the parts needed.

Cheers

You need the 130PS inlet manifold, throttle body, ISCV, cams, MAF and ECU.. hardly worth it.. Just buy a faster car

maf's are identical and inlets dont make any odds as they all have to run through the same injector inlet piece

2.0l cams are different to 130 cams.
only the exhaust cam is the same as 130 spec.
inlet cams are higher lift on 130.
the maf's are the same/
only differences are;
cams
ecu code bc
throttle body
and oil jets under pistons (not needed)
