2wd saff coz with escort coz engine and 4x4 inlet manifold, now i have had a miss/ hiccup type problem on it ,i was told it was the fuel pressure regulater which has been fucked about with so that was adjusted , the car was running ok but using a lot of petrol (full tank-180miles ish) and its totally standard and idoling at 1500rpm, so i took lots of bits off and put a breather on it , i found the breather pipe going in to the inlet manifold was split all over the place, so i took the red plastic ball thing off the breather and put the new pipe on to the fire trap thing so i now have no red ball thing, i cleaned the idle control valve out and blocked the pipe on the inlet manifold off, thinking that would solve the idling prob and the petrol consumption, but i put it all back together and it is a total twat to get started and when it does as soon as you press the accelerator it cuts out , wtf have i done wrong??? is it summit to do with the breather red ball thing or what, should i not have blocked the pipe in the inlet manifold, or could it be the pipe is now fixed so the pressure regulater need adjusting again
pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeese help
its doing me head in

If you block off the brether connection in the plenum you wiol have to compensate by adding extra air into the system via the idle bypass valve. Approx 5turns anti clockwise should have her in teh ballpark and then il do the rest
However... sounds like the ISCV doesnt work

Behave.. each to their own
Idle bypass valve should have read "Screw"
Its underneath the throttle body and is easiest to access after removal of the itake pipe. Only adjust it with the ISCV unplugged and engine hot.
ISCV = Idle Speed Control Valve.
This is teh cylindrical unit with 2 in plug on top of it next to the throttle linkage.
