Default Pls Help!! - My M reg Fiesta Equipe cuts out...............

Hope someone can help me?!! My M reg fiesta equipe has been ok for the last 18months that i have had it for (1st car) but lately, sometimes when im braking for a corner or junction, the revs will drop and then the battery light flashes, then the power steering will go really heavy (as if power steering has gone) sometimes the car will cut out completley and it will take me 2 times to start it again. Anyone have any ideas?. i took it to a mates garage, but he says he doesnt know what it is, unless he is with me when it happens.

my escort was doing this round sharp corners, completely looses power - headunit settings reset, etc.

turned out to be a loose battery and a loose main earth! some tightening and a bit of MDF packing soon sorted it out.

sound like the same sorta problem?

Yes, seems to do it around sharp corners! But the headunit settings don't reset.
Thanks

I had the battery connections checked, and they are fine. But this morning, the battery light came on while i was going down a hill (in rush hour!!) and my brake pedal went completley stiff. (scary!!!) i managed to stop without crashing into the back of anyone, turned the car off, and when i turned it back on again, the brakes were fine?????????????

Sounds like the Endura engine then.

I'd say an air leak myself, and the engine is cutting out, especially seeing as the pedal goes hard because it should retain the vacuum even after the engine stops......maybe the servo is on its way out........

its the hcs engine thats in them (the tap monsters) I had this problem it turned out to ba faulty idle speed controller and it sorted my other sugestion is that there is indeed an air leak with it,

the only reason the brakes go hard is because the car has stalled and there is no pressure in the brake servo as the brake servo only works when the car is running, i wouldnt worry bout them tho cos if you press the pedal hard enuff they still work just a bit harder to press.

I didn't realise they fitted the HCS on the M plate cars thought they stopped way before that. HCS are carbeurettor though aren't they, so it wouldnt have an idle control valve?

The brake servo shouldn't go hard staright away when the engine stalls, should take a good few presses before it goes hard, servo must be knackered.......
