right i know somone who's just got an rs turbo,
on its dyno test that it came with, it says it was overboosing with "the amal valve fully extended".
how would i be able to tell if the turbo's nackered, or if there was any work carried out to sort that.
also its now got a dump valve fitted if there wasnt any work done would it be safe to take the dump valve off.

on the dyno it says it was running 150bhp but its only got a new exhaust dumpvalve and an uprated manifold, could it still be seriously overboosting?

 

It sound s like its not chipped mate and its hitting the boost limit which is why they are saying its over boosting.whats been done to manifold to uprate it????? the power its got is about right if its not chipped get a chip and it will change a lot

overboosting suggests as jon says it was hitting the limiter.

i imagine that report was more of a "problem was, problem fixed" kind of thing.

do you have a boost guage? whats it running>

 

ive got no idea what boost its running yet,
where do i fit the boost gauge hose,
if i take the dumpvalve off what shall i do about the little hose that goest on the back of the dumpvalve

1 more thing, would i be right in thinking i could stick an aftermarket intercooler for another car on this

 

If you taking dump valve off you can use the spare hose to fit boost gauge.or you can stick it in between the hose off the silver ecu..you can fit intercooler off diffrent cars its just getting them to fit and all pipes to fit which is hard bit.....
