Default Alternator driven half turbo?

What do you make of this? Seems a bit stupid, but could it work? maybe to help lessen lag? I'd say it was more of a super charger as it's driven from the engine, but it's half a turbo (compressor side!) so maybe it's a surbo charger!

Anyway. . http://www.boosthead.com/updates.php

What do you think (apart from it probably being wank as it's from the same company apparently that do the electric turbo thingy )

Stolen off XROC.

sounds feasable, it'd need to be geared to get it to spin fast enough to make boost tho. like you say its just like a supercharger.

think its called a pro charger

well the ones ive seen are called that
basically a supercharger looks like a turbo ideal for tight spaces in engine bay

edit- just seen the link lol, that isnt really going to do much as it looks like only one blade so how it would compress the air i have no idea

No its not, a ProCharger is just a make of centrefugal supercharger, ie ones that use a turbo compressor, but belt driven using a gearbox thingy to up the ratio, this one seems simpler.

Dont speak too soon. Look at the full Thomas Knight website, the electric superchargers he has made in the past DO work, the only ones in the world that do, so cant see him making that if its junk.

Who knows.

Cheap as in badly made, shitty, pointless rubbish

How the hell are you going to get your alternator spinning at 10,000 rpm to make boost?
