Default 7 x 16s on S1? Help! - photos!!

Bought a set of 7 x 16" Compomotive MO's for the S1, any idea how difficult they wll be to fit? I've seen plenty with Esc Cos wheels which are obv wider so it can be done just curious if anyone else has done it....

Mine also has rear discs and is lowered 60mm all round which will obv make a difference.....

I think you'll have problems because of lowering it 60mm mate, it's abit low really for an RST

What offset are the wheels?

My car is on 16"x7" MOs on an ET35 offset. It's on coilovers and the height from the floor to the centre of the arches is 58cm.

correct offset 16's will not catch no matter how low the car is. I use 195/45/16 on back, and 215/40/16 on front.

How come you use wider tyre's on the front and not the back mate? It's the other way around usually isn't it?

Dan

Beacuse the front has all the torque going throught them - u need as much grip as possible there - thats where all the weight is. It makes the car feel more neutral too. Rear wheels just get pulled along - no real weight there.

Simply because there isn't as much clearance on the back end. Wider could cause arch catching issues.

It makes it harder with S1 arches as the skirts are closer to the wheels.

Got an old 205/45/16 chucked on, just to get an idea of where I was, its on and fits cool, obv a bit close but the car is lowered on 60mm springs so thats my first port of call, 195/45/16s and raise the ride height a bit but it looks fookin hard

On a less happy note, started taking bodykit off for paint to find there is very little underneath so looks like resto might take a bit longer
