Make sure someone hasn't bought a Motorsport shell and built it from parts. Nothing wrong with this if they know what they're doing, but did they?
I know a bloke who did several of these, thats why there is a "w" plate white Escos near me.

The one's im talking(typing?) about are a brand new shell and 90% brand new parts. Once they are built they have to gain SVA approval and are then registered as a new car, hence the "w" plate.

i have a homologation Lux

Cola has one. no pop out rears or sunroof but electrics
There are 2 types of motorsport escoss,
1, was built by ford and was a complete running car ,
no , sunroof
elecy windows
opening rear windows
and didnt have recaro seats in the front and no rear headrests in the back .
PS , the chassie number begins with WFO,
2, Was sold as a trimmed shell onlt , ( NO ENGINE / BOX / RUNNING GEAR WAS FITTED )
Only sold in white and the shell has no sealer anywhere on the shell .
chassie number starts with SAB ,
Theese also had a plate on the bonnet landing pannel ststing a FIN CODE and also states that the car is RHD ( right hand drive ) or lhd for ( left hand drive )
Theese where mainly Q plate cars as they left ford with no ID
The first option that left ford complete are good cars and exept the few minor electrical parts are the same as a normal spec car , ( most have had elecy windows etc fitted now anyway buy present owners ) Theese where sealed by ford and where available in all colours .
I owened a motorsport escoss and it was a smashing car and after i fitted the elecy bits and the rear windows it was as good as a lux ( just no sunroof )
I hope this helps
cheers Paul

mine is a 94 lux model (french, btw) and has got no sunroof at all, but : full black Recaro leather interior, air conditionner, pop out rears, electric front windows, but no airbag at all. Hope this helps
And no doubt that my car is perfectly genuine as far as shell and options are concerned... so there must be lots of variations depending on models, years and also countries.

Basically has fuckall on it!

Mine had the WI bag in the boot and all the plumbing as well.
the easy way to find out about any car is just call Ford with the chasiss number and they will tell you where it was built and what spec in left the factory in,one simple call will tell you the whole truth

people are forgetting that ford also sold the esc cos in standard spec, half way between motor sport and lux, they was no option of leather or aircon and a few other bits missing, it could be on of them.

I always thought the Motorsport tag was just another name for Poverty Spec - nothing to do with any kind of competition, just no goodies onboard.
Bare shells sold by Ford don't have VIN numbers. It comes with a normal VIN plate but stamped up on the "wrong" side describing the model and spec for the car (the back is all printed for the various items of info) and shows where the shell was consigned to. Mine even stipulates the sliding roof, and shows the colour as Primer.
Once the car is built up, tested and inspected, the local DVLA office allocate a chassis number.
