Default How to restrict access to a website

Fella at work just asked me how to stop (i think it was his partner or neice) visting certain websites - however he doesnt want it to look obvious that he's put a restriction on.

Anyone know a cheeky (and free) way to do it?

put a bar on the website in the security settings for internet explorer, or place a bar on certain words

If you have a router, then usually you can adjust the settings so that certain words or websites are barred from all computers connected via that router

my prefered method is to add the name of the website in the local hosts file and point it as 127.0.0.1 (loopback) this way when they type in the site name, it will point at the wrong location and never load

Would it not be more believable if that address opened the infamous .html file with page cannot be displayed

it will give a 404 dan (unless IIS is running on the PC)

quite funny to point it at an "KIDDY-PORN ACCESS BLOCKED, POLICE EN-ROUTE" message tho
