Been fishing since 10am this morning for pike. Had quite a good bit of luck

Here's My beast. Put up an absolutely savage fight, took me about 10 minutes to land it. Was strong for a medium sized fish.

Nice one mate, havent been fishing for about 10 years. Think I might have to dust off all my gear and hit some lakes this summer.

 

Do it We were using plugs, bright colours with a gammy wobble to them. Not bad, a days entertainment for Ł5 worth of tackle

 

Not bad mate, i fucking hate Pike, evil little bastards .

Prefer Carp myself .

 

I am partial to a nice carp. But i really can't get involved with setting up rigs etc, i get bored quick.

Pike is the thrill of the chase, Especially the big one i got, it followed the plug to the bank, and i saw it come out the water and swallow the plug about 4 foot infront of me That with being half stoned scared the shit out of me lol but i landed it when i got it back from its little runaway

i went carping the other day and got 2 pike one 11 and one 16 both on red boilys bring them in lolol

 

not bad fish m8 weres the unhooking matt tho? and your holding them wrong you need to pick them up via the gillcover coz they are cunts for jumping out your hands

 

oh and you need at least 12inch forceps as pike tend to get deep hooked ok enough of the lecture

 

Thats make shift tackle. All the proper stuff is down the back of the shed

A towel does jsut as good, but we left it over the other side when we moved and it was missions to go back and get it.

As for holding them, I don't 'do' the gill thing. As Matt Hays said, 'Don't try this unless you're absolutely confident with it' & i'm not, and never will be. If i had my pike gloves, i'd have been able to hold them at both ends, but like i said, tackle is down the back of the shed and i only end up tacking make shift tackle and those thermals i grabbed made it like holding eels

Yes, the forceps, as was said to my mate jason 'Fuck it, knew i should have paid the extra 40p for 12" forceps'

Might pop down the pit later today, catch the monster 35 pounders, as the others wern't all that big compared to what we can catch.
