i have my rear end accident damaged s2, all running fine and dandy (well was untill i took all of the hoses etc off)
i also have a mk4 cabby, complete with the worst wiring i have ever seen (masking tape and selotape for the joins anyone?
)
i am fairly confident in swapping the engine, fuelling etc over, the only bit thats making me shit the bed is the wiring.
i have unplugged alot of the s2's engine bay, and have labled the loom at each plug. what happens when we get to the fusebox's? im going to try remove the s2 engine and wiring over the next couple of days...

can you not just transplant the entire loom?
As above just remove both dash boards & swap both looms over its not the biggest of jobs i done it years ago into a 4 door escort & i joined
the rear loom at the drivers seat

When i done my conversion i just took the entire look out of my rolled rst & put it in the cab - it's a piece of piss to do mate, if you lay the loom out you'll see it's all shaped exactly where it needs to go so you cant go wrong.
If you were closer i'd come up & sort it for you but as your miles away i wont

what 4 door escort was that Carlo?
Peice of piss really, take out the dash , unclip the loom from everywhere. do not cut any earths if you can avoid it. Prise up the fuse board section of the fuse box and withdraw the loom , as the haynes says , refitting is the reversal of removal.
Make sure you keep the seal in place if you take out the full fuse box, this will stop the water coming in to your footwell.
when refitting the loom , the wires sit in place here they are ment to go , but it wont do any harm in labeling it up as you go along before you remove it

as said
replace the entire car loom so much easier and everything goes where it should as in a hatch
the only difference is the wires for the rear heated screen but you just the cabby ones as these plug up where it would on a hatch same with the pin swict for the boot light
other than that its straight forward
can be done in a day mate
