Are there any little dodges with this, or have they shut them all down?

Best he can hope for is to go on a speed awareness course imo. No points, just a little more expensive than the fixed penalty fine.
That is, if his local police force offer it to him.

Just been on said course last saturday, and the police are clearly clamping down on speeders in 30 and 40 mph zones. That's where most accidents occur, and they are usually quite serious car vs pedestrian ones.

Watch out in the 30's and 40's guys, it's VERY easy to get caught out

There's loads of things you can do to avoid the points

It all comes down to how far you are prepared to go...

If you aren't prepared to risk going to court to fight your case, then just roll over and hand the Ł60 over and await your 3 points.
