saff cos 2wd rear shafts not same length is this right

as above i have just stripped mine to clean them etc but the shafts are about 1" 3/4 different is this right if so does it matter which side they are fitted

it's cos the diff is off centre internally with different length output shafts.

pmsl at "does it matter which side they are fitted" - you would think so, cos if you get it wrong it'll be bloody obvious that one is too long, and the other is too short
