Default Whens it time to sell up?

Why have you sold you Cosworths, RS's?

Just wondering? i think this year deffinatley gotta be the year i finall pluck up enough courage to sell the car Reason why im asking as latley i just cant be arsed to work on it as much as i used to I got a few little jobs to do before it gets setup tomorrow, but i just cant be arsed to work on it. And cleaning it argh if it wasnt in as good condition as it is i wouldnt bother but shame to let it go etc. So maybe time for me to sell up? Or at least at end of this show season?

Meant to sort out my bottom arm this week, as one side had to be replaced and i meant to get the poly bush put in, but lack of time and will i didnt do it

You'll only regret it once it's gone mate! Soon as those shows start coming round you'll enjoy it much more!

The time to sell for me was when i realised a 3k rebuild wasnt worth putting into the car, i mean whats the point in lashing 3k on a rebuild on a car i ended up getting Ł4800 for it just doesnt make financial sense

I keep thinking of selling my cossie every week as i just don't use it , only do the odd trackday & thats quite expensive. My wife absoultely hates the cossie & has never been in it in 3 yrs, she says its just an ornament in the garage, she's right though its a waste of money, its a second car that isn't really useable, their's no way i'd ferry the kids about in a shonky 3dr cossie.

Everytime i say i'm going to sell it i can't bring myself to do it I'm going to look at an M3 convertible for her next week ( just an old 1995 model) as i think it only fair the Mrs has a car that she can enjoy, so if it gets too much to run 3 cars i think the cossie will get the elbow this time

Don't know if anybody else's wife/girlfriend thinks like mine but she hates RS's & says their Chav motors & wouldn't be seen dead in my cossie

Simon.

If your wife thinks Cossies are chav cars, and you have a cossie, then she must think that you are a chav, no? I mean, my fiancee takes the piss incessantly about my car, but if she got that snobby about it, she'd get a fucking severe talking to. Love me, love the car.

The time comes when you think you've spent enough money, become pissed off enough and decided you want something to drive not worry about/repair/look at. Depends if you've reached that stage Or maybe it's part of growing up

I nearly sold my S1 this week but pulled out of the deal - as basically I couldn't let her go. It's all well and good thinking about it but when I actually see her..................I get like I did when I first bought her. I can't put a price on that feeling so therefore how can I put a price on the car (to me) ? I'm 34 this year and yes TBH I probably look a bit daft in my S1 but hell, she's mine and I think I would only sell her if finances dictated (and I hope they never do !)

Had mine for 16 years, so you've got some catching up to do Rhys.

When I start feeling like that, I just leave it in the garage and don't touch it......a couple of months later you'll find your missing something in life and it starts all over again....Don't think of it as an investment, coz it aint, just forget you've got it and leave it for a while. You'll soon go back to it though.

Mines outlasted two wives and numerous girlfriends....... And a damned site more reliable....

And at times more fun....

The time to sell up is when you start a thread called one of the following:

"thinking of selling the cos"

"thinking of breaking the cos"

"stupid cos, so expensive, going to sell"

"this is not a for sale post"

"please talk me out of selling the cos"

Your cos has to be one of the nicest out there for all round looks and performance but circumstances change and sometimes you have to move on to other things. Maybe wait until uni is finished especially as you only run it for part of the year, not like you have year round daily drive expense.

Keep it mate......

My Cossie's are my hobbie, if it rains or the weather is cack i just leave them in the garage and forget about it..

They are hard work i agree, but, worth it in the end, I must admit i prefer the
more racing/rally look rather than shiny bufty stuff..

I had all the bling once, but got fed up with cleaning it, so sold it all to buy go faster bits

But if you need the money to get a house, then yes its a lot of cash sat around
doing nothing.

I did it the other way round............

Al...........
