does anyone know the facts
You can use th eXR2i head and cam I beleive as the only difference is the cam pulley (or so I'm led to beleive.
In theory you could use the block from the Escort (drilled to take the CPS) and the head and cam fom the XR2i. I think

I seem to recall th eFiesta and Escort cam pulleys are the same. There will be people on here that will be able to back up my thinking or squash it flat dependeing on whether I got it right

yes you'll need to change the flywheel for an efi one. you may be able to use a sierra 1.8cvh crank pulley instead though, thing that has a trigger ring on it
the heads are different, but you could het the ERST inlet manifold modded to take the efi injectors.
cant you use the efi inlet manifold on a erst head with a frst crossover pipe? been told by another forum user that the efi management is very easy to convert to run on erst engines

how does 1.8 pulley help then?
Wouldn't it just be easier to get a spacer plate made up with injector cut outs to fit the EFI inlet manifold to the MFI head and then have a CPS hole tapped into the block along with the swap to a EFI flywheel (you can grab these off of any CVH EFI engine, FRST, XR2i 8v, XR3i EFI, Orion mk4/5 EFI 1.6 CVH etc.) rather than using a Sierra CPS? It's just that I thought using the Sierra CPS would require the spacing out of the alternator bracket itself? (I had to have this done by Gadget with my Cossie management conversion).

I have an escort engine
You will need an efi fly wheel and the 1800 crank pulley set up is the easiest way and a adaptor plate that sits at the back of the head. Both can be purchased from jano http://members.lycos.co.uk/oddkidd/
