Instead of trying to fit a higher rated fuse why dont you try & find the fault Jimbo?

Are the rear lights shorting out?

Best is to go and check all the wiring looms for any nicks, make sure all connectors are clean and fitted properly

Jim,

Check the reverse light switch on the gearbox and the wires going to it.

If it is like the Es Cos oen then it could be trapped/shorting to earth.....this would give you the problem you have as it's on the same fuse as the indicators and reverse lights.

as above
unplug the loom for the reversing lihgts (behind the coil pack and it's going to have either 3 or 5 wires in an 8 wire multi plug) and it should solve the problem for the short term

as for the oil light, the wire should plug halfway down into the block on the passenger side front just below the first exhaust manifold pipe

oil light's never worked...

doug/dojj... the reversing light is deffo a likely culprit, as thats been fiddled with in the engine swap, and its even routed a funny way.

i'll unplug it for now
