Default advice on coilovers

Hi, i recently bought a saph cosoworth 4wd, and will be a dedicated track/race car. which is allready equipped with bilstein coilovers. These were used on a rally saph. Now on the track it handless like a skippyball. My guess is that the dampers/springs are way to much for track use. (and they start leaking too)Does anyone know a company who can revalve/spring my bilsteins, and has some expierence with saph track/race cars for advice?
And or anyone a clue which springrates/camber front/rear i need?

Thing is, dropping by in a english workshop with my car is a bit difficult since i live in the Netherlands. my dampers i could simpy do with the postal services.

cheers,

Rinus

What did you end up doing to help/cure the problem? Are they all knackered, leaking or you changed them?

i found a guy who can/will recondition them. Just the rear springs need to be measured for what rate it is.
Touhg i'm still not sure what springrates/camber/caster/toe setting i'll need for trackday use.
fronts are 600/200 with 600lbs and rears 350/130 with unknown springs.
but posted those questions in another topic

Hello! What kind of tires are you using? The spring rates depends a lot of what kind of tyres you are using. I have some experience of coilovers as ii,ve had Bilsteins for the last ten years. If you don,t use slicks i would recommend a springrate of around 450-500 lbs/inch at the front, and about the same at the rear. The damping rate i would recommend is around 325/150at the front, and on the rear i say about 300/100. This is with factory diffs and weight distribution. Just a recommendation from my own track experience. Good luck!

Hi, well the car will be running on slicks which at the front 200 and rear 235 wide.
Car is stripped and a has a full (welded) rollcage. But engine remains in the same position ( i'll have the car weight watched this week)
dampers at the rear are rosejointed, and at the front with rosejointed tca's. Remaining bushes are poly ones.
Also am thinking about getting compressed struts for more stiffness, ( and castor adjustment) but that will require even stiffer springs at the front i supose?

It depends on if you are using a front mounted anti roll bar or not. If you compare your springrate with the Gr.A cars i think you have a spring that is okay.
