like subject.....if its build inside the centre console arm rest....so you wont see anything...

is it allowed on a road car....?

The only issue over here in the UK is with the cables needed for a mechanical means of locking the wheel. It dosn't need to be hidden.

If you just rely on the hydraulics to hold it the pressure will drop after a short while and your car will roll off, if its parked on a hill.

If you can sort out the mechanical bit then its not a problem in the UK

technically no, you need a machanical form of holding the car stationary which means either a cable or the like

but on the other hand, some people at certain mot stations may not see that there is no cable arrangement and let you off with it
