Default gearbox specialists for T5

i need to get my 2wd saff box rebuilt or i want a decent recon box but not too sure where to go for it.......has to be a pukka rebuild.....no cowboys
Any ideas lads and how much???

heard 350 can get you a good rebuild?

why not just buy another second hand box?

dont want secondhand really cos you just dont know what your buying. I rather spend the extra bucks and get a pukka rebuilt one.

CTS i thinks the best about mate

Have u dropped a gear ? Pretty bullet proof for the power the old t5

i did mine myself

got a rebuild kit from CTS. pretty easy once you've removed 5th gear if you follow the manual and do it all methodically in a large working area where yu can lay all the bits out in order.

gearbox is perfect for normal driving but when you give it beans it doesnt want to go from 2nd to 3rd at all and is getting notchy in the other gears too.....no biggie but i just want the car right.
I had a tear up with an ERST the other day and he thought that he had beaten me coz i couldnt get 3rd gear and he pulled away.....frustrating

stop killin my old car lol first rab puts it into a kerb now u wreck the gearbox and blow the headgasket


diffs were the only thing that ever died on me hence havin my new one 2 days then blowing it he he

as far as gearbox man goes i dropped my diff off their last wk for a quaiffe-ing so im waiting before i comment on theier work but i went on repuitation always heard good things

headgasket is just one of those things grant that can go at any time but its only very slight at the moment and the box has always been notchy since i had the car so i think it was rab that wrecked it .......sorry rab,just trying to pass the buck

its not actually too bad,i think im just being fussy again rab.....as for cleaning it, im the same....ive washed it 3 times in the last week and my neighbours take the piss .....all that alloy and chrome takes a bit of cleaning too mate but worth the effort
