Best Cossie Breather for Stage 3 + Cossie
Say a Cossie running a T34 and greens/greys, what is the best oil breather kit, and where from?
Also can you explain if its worth it taking a feed from the cam cover, and whether certian kits allow this.
I've been told ideally I'd want 2 inlets and 2 outlets, then the outlets will go under the bottom of the car to keep bad smells out
Cheers

So in Stu's setup, he has it breathing from the fire trap and the cam cover, then what? As you can't see any others as they're out of view

This is my breather set up, does the same job just mine has an extra outlet on the pot with goes to the catch tank.

From what I can see then, the mirror image and the breather tanks do the same thing?
So as long as I have a large breather pot OR a mirror image tank, with 4 large ports, inlets going to fire trap and cam cover, and outlets going to return to the sump and one venting to atmosphere i'll be ok?

But surely in Stu's there is:
Breathing from the fire trap and the cam cover
and There is another 2 outlets under the breather. 1 is going to atmosphere & the other is returning to the sump.
So there is still only one return to the sump

Not sure to be honest.. I would imagine that stu has his breathing from both sides of the block and not using the blanked block breather as the return. But i could be wrong as Stu's spec isnt huge is it..
The Bailey one is perfectly adequate - the key is how it is set up. Ideally, you want it breathing from the flame trap and then point underneath the exhaust manifold (side of the block). The return the goes to the SUMP. If you have it connected in the way that Bailey suggest (for ease of fitting - which is breathing from flame trap, cam cover and then draining to side fitting under exhaust manifold), then the only time that the oil can return to the engine is when it is switched off, as the crank-case pressure will otherwise prevent it from doing so (which is why you have to have the oil return back to below oil level in the sump).

Obviously, this requires a fitting being welded in the sump, which is then the ideal time for a big-wing item

That is temporary, as the WRC one is soon to be fitted, and you won't even be able to tell it has one on the car
.

yeah i know dave, seen one fitted to Spadges old 500 engine, no denying it fits well.
But if i remember it comes at a premium price does it? i.e £300-400? before fittings?
So about £500.
Saything that, think mine was about that new.
