Am just wonderin if there are any fellow competitors on here. i have navigated for the past 5 years up here in Scotland mainly. Tim Finch

and Tony "NutS Rus" from here are rallydrivers, also "Markk".

I'm still amateur, can't afford rallying so far, very expensive in POland and you have to jump into true competition with all the FIA rules and classes.

Welcome back A few of us were out last weekend

Tim Finch (TFRallyesport) won it, and I retired whilst just outside the top 10

We have Markk who does the forest stuff, and Sibster who's still building his, Andyescos who's built about 2 1/2 cars since selling his Mk2, GPA4x4 who's from up your way, and a whole host of race car competitors doing various Ford Championships

Sorry we also have the foreign competitors like Jakub (above) and others dotted around the world

Great stuff, glad to hear there are some like minded folk aboot. Hows the mk3 going what engine you runnin in it these days? You dont see many mk3/4 escorts rallying now. Shame you retired last week. Congrats t Tim. Am really looking forward to this weeknd will keep u posted on how it goes, we got a good seeding even though this is our first event in the 205 cup, fingers crossed we live up to the expectations!
Rallying definately aint cheap these days no matter where in the world you rally, especially up here in Scotland, the forest rallys are costing Ł400 in entries not including notes and service/management packs and you find yersel behind 50 odd jap 4x4s!

The old Mk3 is going strong thanks Its still under 1600cc so runs in class B. Was beating many 4x4 and turbo cars last weekend because the weather was crap.

My stand in navi did the 205 c/ship last year and its expensive to say the least. So much so they are not doing it this year. Its just not worth it.

Forest rallying in the UK is expensive - not many people know that as a sport, we have to pay the forestery commission something like Ł509 per stage mile for single use and then a further Ł300 per mile for secondary use etc.

Thats why your entry fees are expensive

But we put up with the expense because we love it.

I treck upto Scotland at least once per year for the Tour of Mull.
Now that's an event you want to do if you havn't done it before, but be warned it took me 3 years just to get an entry

Seems so alien to me. Every rallycar and every rallycar wannabie has them here (and in any country nearby and far - Asia, Africa, even America). Kind of rally tradition, very strong one even if fairly young.

A lot of people are outraged by co-driver's names missing from WRC cars rear windows.

Anyway this shows how UK can be different in weird way. You don't have names but you have lots of motorsport for sure Which is good.
