cam timing on a series2 engine

Default cam timing on a series2 engine

ive got a mk.1 xr2 and i have fitted a piper cam kit to the series2 head but the vernier pulley has to timin marks, can any1 help me???? i no the crank is set at 12 in no.1 piston is set at t.d.c, cheerz

you have to find out what the crank position should be when no 1 inlet is at full lift, by measuring it with a DTI

the crank pulley should be at tdc

and the cam pulley at tdc

the ignition timing fires at 12degrees before tdc !

IIRC when timed up properly the cam's wood-ruff key should be at 6 o'clock.
