how do you remove these sucessfully without damaging them?

not worried about scratching the car, need them out before it goes to paint

the only safe way to do it is cut the windows out from the back with a vibrating cutter then take the trim of but if its just for painting then leav them on and thay wont bend

corse i have thats how i did it , 5 days 10 out of 10 for efort though ,, can you imagine you had your window broken and pete turned up you would do the respectable thing and go make him a cupa while he gets to work , you bring out the cups to see him useing a tin opener on your car how gutted would you be seriously though i have a air powered saw that cuts them out its the same as what they cut pots of with in hospitles and it comes with the straight finger tipe blades for cuting windows out and round serated blades for cutting metal

Oscillating saw Have one at work, only use it now and again, but it has been known to do Sierra's on occasion

You can knife it out from the inside, but you really need the interior panels stripped to do it, and you run a big risk of scratching the outside paint aswell...

Day 5? I cut these out in an hour a side if I am saving the glass If the glass it already broken then that cuts it down to about 15/20mins a side And thats all with a normal blade knife, not even with the ossy saw...

But then, I do do it for a living lol...

Thats how we are supposed to do it, to be fair... But I personally am not a huge fan of the wire on the Sierra rear quater glasses (nor the XR4 fixed 8lites) due to the metal U section in the trim's. Get snagged on this and it can be a complete pain in the ass!!!! Secondly, if you fuck it up, your gonna cut right through that plastic outer trim too.... Seen it done, owner was not impressed (wasn't me doing the removing I might add)

hi mate

there no need to take the strip or the seal off because it's " kind of "part of the glass it also have metal clips that holds it aswell

all you have to do to take the glass out is cut the bonding all around the glass inside the car job done

marco
