Default do i need a 3 bar map sensor?

just a quick question for you guys n gals? do i need to fit a 3 bar map sensor when using a 195 chip and beige injectors? thanks in advance for your advice

depends on what boost your going to run.....

you only need to swap the map if your running big boost that the standard map sensor will not take

not sure of actual boost level its whatever a 195 superchip runs!!

i think ive answered my own question! a my car is an early rst 8/90 it runs a cossie map sensor which i think is 3 bar?

iirc the stock FRST on OFAB is a 2 bar and OFAC is 2.5 bar. It might be th eother way round though

We have one of each so I always get in a cufuddle

correct

you can try a cossie 2.5 bar item on the ofab, that might well be enough for you

you will only need to run about 16 - 18psi on a 195 chip mate. if that

2 bar is 28psi

anything more than 18ish means a low comp rebuild im afraid

a bar map sensor will only allow 14.5 psi, the other bar goes from 0 to -14.5psi of vacuum pressure, so a 3 bar will allow 29psi basically.

If you look at the sensor, a 2 bar is black, a 3 bar is grey.
