Default exhaust backpressure/silencer-cat questions

just a quick q on the above,

thinking about decatting the hack(1.2 16v punto) and looking for a bit more oomph than the stock 85 horses for the morning run


what sort of effect am i going to see from

a) decatting

b) complete straight thru system with a free flow back box?



not too up on the science of it hence the questions,

not alot performance wise...

but prob a big drop in fuel consumption...

IMO dont bother just to gain 2 hp

its not about a power gain

its more akin to i want to go deaf lol

just wondering what the effect would be on driveability

ie maybe move peak power down the revs abit (ideally)

it would give you marginally more power but on a car with an engine that small(no offence) you wouldnt notice the difference. it will however scare the crap outta your neighbours cats in the morning when you start it

just trying to move the powerband around a bit,

everything happens above 5k its crap for commuting lol
