I tried on my 3dr, could only get classic if I stayed at stage 1 any more and had to go back on normal policy, but you can get these as limited milage to reduce premium

My cossie is modified and insured with HIC on a classic policy. Car has to be at least 15 which of course your S1 will be.

classic tax is after 25 i think.

That 25 year rule for classic tax has now been scrapped as far as I'm aware. It still applies to cars before they stopped it though.

only cars built pre 73 have free tax

HIC looked after my S2 and that's anything but moddified and they didn't get upset when I told them it was caged

Correct, I think that means they must have stopped that rule from 1998
