I dont want to buy a whole car, this one is in great nick otherwise, has an lpg conversion and runs sweet at a nut, just need to bolt on correctly coloured wing and bumper and it will be fine again.

Not really sure its possible to learn from it, i was obviously going quicker than it was ideal to do in floods, but had no idea there were floods round the next bend, and i do too many miles a year to crawl around everywhere at 10mph just in case, so no i probably havent learnt a thing from it unfortunately, could still just as easily happen next week!

Road was fine when i drove down it a few hours before :S

Next time set it sideways before the corner and pray

Don't worry I overshot a corner in Saph Cossie with 5 people inside - that was deadly for my pride. Especially because we were spectating a rally and I was beeing followed by a mate - racing-driver who laughed big time :-(

Didnt have time to set anything up, came round bend perfectly normally unaware anything was going on, visibility was poor in the rain and screen was a bit smeary, first time i realised it was flood not just a shallow puddle was as i went to turn the next bend and nothing happened, tried applying brakes but obvioulsy that didnt nothing either so went back to trying to steer only (brkaes obviously making hte understeer worse) and managed to turn it from a head on into a glancing blow, that was best i could manage though sadly.

XRT_si, yeah will do mate, shoul cost too much, only a mondaneo so no exactly rare, just a case of making sure i find them that dont need painting.

89xr2, brutally honest as always mate, lol

chip-3door well bad luck then... never happened to me so far in wet but in winter I came close on couple of occasion, last time - last wendsday - braking zone before the corner with nice shiny, layer of ice... must have looked very "rallystyle" what I did...

Ive never had an accident like that before either, only ever had a couple of accident and they involved other road users.

Probably driven about 500,000 miles in total now, so i guess law of averages meant it had to happen sooner or later.

At least it was a relatively minor bump

chip-3door my mate (rip :-() used to say that small accident every couple of uears helps to restore sense of reality and remove invulnerability missconception we all somehow manage to develope.

I only know one person that does a lot of kilometers and never had even minor accident, but I think it's sheer luck... and that something big must be coming

Don't buy that Chip, I'll get down my local scrappers first thing Saturday morning and get to work

There's also a dedicated Ford breakers not that far from me, although he once told me he bought RS2k bumpers in at Ł70 a piece and that's why he was selling them at high prices

Have you got a phone number for them?

TBH if i canget the panels new and local to me painted in the correct colour for less than a couple of hundred off that company on ebay, im probably better off doing that unless this place by you wants sensible money and has them in the right colour.
no point getting them in the wrong colour and having them painted, will cost more than those ebay ones.

The dedicated brakers, and if you could have a look in your local scrappy that would be cool.

I just phoned the ebay guy, as i thought, they are non genuine panels, which in my expierence means they probably dont fit very well!

Here youg o Chip:

Mally's Ford Spares
40 Burton Street Dewsbury Road
Leeds West Yorkshire LS1 5NU
Tel: (0113 276 0310)

Dunno how good he is to be honest, but I'd be surprised if he couldn't get you the bits.

Ask for prices with and without shipping, cause if it's extortion you can either get your own courier to pick up and deliver or I'll go get the bits for you and send them.

Cheers Jay, i'll see if anyone has any luck with the local scrappy's first (xrstu is looking today and im going to look tomorrow too and now you as well) and the if not i will try that guy, if he hasnt got or cant get what im after, i will give the pattern crap on ebay a go, probably fit well enough not to matter in this instance, its only a workhorse anyway, dont really care if the panel gaps are perfect or not, just cant be driving around with it stoved in
