After doing it for the 1st time last year all I can really say is just go out and enjoy it but just be wary of whats around you.
It's great fun and I'm just waiting for my tickets to come through for trax

youl have to be driving pretty mad (or bad) to stack it in somthing slow, FWD, and not particularly grippy (so low cornering speed) to be honest (providing you dont hit someone by not looking around you!).
as long as you dont seriously overestimate how fast you can corner, youl be fine.

as you come under the bridge then you have a right then a left then left before the long sweeping right hander onto the main straight... look out for the 2nd lefthander! you have to go round there a lot slower than you initially think on your 1st lap
i tried to take it at circa 70mph... i later found out that even F1 cars dont do that corner at that speed
also on that big sweepy corner, come in as hard as you can where the car's just on the limit, then back off the gas completely... you'll have the arse end overtaking the front end in no time
much much fun

Seriously, don't go out there hell for leather. Just take it easy, warm the car and the tyres up, and learn where the circuit goes.
Gradually increase your speed, so you don't arrive at the limits of the car or yourself too quickly.
Be aware of other people on the track - there is nothing BETTER than a track day novice who uses their mirrors and safely moves out of the way to let faster cars through.
At the same time, don't be TOO eager to move out of the way. It'll be obvious where the best places are to gently pull to the right.
Overtaking should only be on the left and on the straights.
Check all your levels including oil, water, pas fluid, brake fuid, tyre pressures etc etc and keep an eye on them throughout the day. (If you like your brakes, don't use your handbrake when you come back in after several laps of spirited driving!)
Slow in, fast out is the best advice you will take with you, so adhere to it - it does work.
Most importantly, enjoy yourself - it's supposed to be fun too!
Have fun mate
