Sort of yes, although they can be expensive. How about the RSOC one there in July ?

Track insurance is wise, but if its your first one I'd gamble at it not being necessary. You will be too hyped up and nervous to do anything stupid.

Its only needed when your confidence grows and speeds increase imho.

To have a look at insurance take a browse at http://www.moris.co.uk/ and look at the trackday links.

Tips, just make sure your cooling and brakes are working ok, nothing major needed, just a quick check over, take your licence and helmet and go and have fun Don't try and keep up with anyone, run at your own pace and as its your first one forget all this crap about I need this tyre, I have this petrol, will these pads be ok.... just go and have some bloody fun.

If you get the chance ask to go out with an instructor for a few laps (its usually free) it will pay off heaps in ways you wont be able to quantify

Some of them can yes - or you can always borrow one off a mate until your sure your going to like it

There is no problem with taking it steady either - its all about enjoyment dont forget, its not a race
