14.5-14.7

Depends what type of pressure you are converting or summat... IIRC Tiff IS correct when refering to boost...

been loads of techy discussions on it...

As damo has pointed out boost pressure relates to 14.7 but can also alter dependent on where the reading is taken in relation to sea level been a few big tech essays on here

Tiff was correct with his first reply....

1 Bar=14.7 Psi at sea level, which incidentally is atmospheric pressure..

This also equates to 1 Kilogram per square centimetre....And technically 1 Ton per square foot...

This is where the equation gets a little mixed up,because we are already at a constant 1 bar of atmo pressure there is conversion factors that come into play.......And the Yanks always have their own idea of things anyway(Hence the conversion tables in the above site... )

So you are all nearly there,...14.5-14.7..................Or thereabouts...

Davva your wrong mate

1 atmosphere (1atm) is 14.7 Psi

but 1 bar is 14.5 psi

This is bercause atmospheric pressure is an average as its different all over the world hence weather fronts and the like.

Was going to say 14.5 as 14.7 is 1 atm (atmosphere) but somebody beat me to it. I could have looked clever there for a minute as well

i was told this wrong when at college

but there is 14.5 psi per bar

the reason most people say 14.7 (which is 1.013 bar) is that this is the standard atmopheric pressure at sea level! so when you see high pressure on the weather forcast it means that its about 1.013 bar,,, and low pressure is below 1.013 bar
