Default E36 M3 Buying..

what can you really expect from a £5k e36 m3 with about 100k miles?

a pile of shit that will cost a fortune to fix with diffs/boxes/vanos etc?

or a ten year old car with average miles that'll last forever if serviced correctly/looked after.

discuss!

For that money i would say it is a 3.0L and not the 3.2 EVO version

Sounds a cheap car......have a GOOD look round it

yeah 3.0, apparently theres not much difference on the road between the 3.0 and the 3.2, true or BS?

does the vanos have it's own seperate oil and filter? sounds a bit odd to me but someone on my msn said it does with service intervals about 4k miles on the m3's? is that right?

No, they use the engine oil. But they do have a little filter, which has been known to block and cause issues. For the few quid it is, replacing it every year is no hardship.

Not sue off the top of my head on intervals. Def not 4K though.
