Default Best "classified" sites to buy e36 M3 evo?

Guys -

I am currently looking for an e36 m3 evo.

The only sites I know to look for one are, www.topmarques.co.uk www.autotrader.co.uk and www.pistonheads.co.uk

Do u guys know of any other websites that are good for finding a car?

I dont think there seems to be any decent BMW specific sites so I have just been trawling the above sites?

I thought maybe you guys might know of some decent sites that are worth me checking, either generic like pistonheads or specific for BMW?

Cheers

Took me 41 days to get access on e36Coupe.com Steve! In the end I emailed the guy who runs it (the BMW equivalent of Stu@MSD, kind of).

Here's his address: a7_kul@hotmail.com

Hope this helps get you on there.

There's a non EVO one on there:
http://www.e36coupe.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=92726

And a cheap EVO here:
http://www.e36coupe.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=92619

And a SMG Evo here:
http://www.e36coupe.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=92512

All posted this year so seems a good place to look...

lol - ace work lads

thanks for all the help -

PON: The difference is I *will* end up with one rather than dreaming of driving one :P - so there shouldn't be any issue there, they will be happy to find a genuine buyer after all the timewasters have been round haha *ps gl, are u looking for the same thing? as we could keep each other informed of what we find!

Euan: No chance of SMG - I could get a good SMG tomorrow but no way. As for Ian ( Andy's pal ) we will be enquiring that way and see what he says.

Toff: Too right pal Once I get some basic bits on it to make it corner and stop well we can get the drifting going lol

Ollie: Just bad timing mate! ( lets be honest tho, in the few months u had urs, surely it saw the high side of the speed limiter nearly every day?!?! )

Wildheart: Get some details on your mates one - feel free to PM me and we can see where we go from there

Big - Wig: My mate is on the BBS and pm'd the admin for me - so I should be getting on there asap - either way tho - ur logon details via pm would allow me to browse so yes please!

Dumped: We might not *look* scared when we are south of the bored, but some of us just know how to hide fear well

Thanks for the quality reply from everyone - the car needs to be bought and modified ready to go to the ring in Easter so time is tight

Cheers!

Porsche911r101: Thanks for the username n pwd - I will have a look at the website when I get home tonight.

Lambchop: Yeah about time I got something sorted out - its been a LOOOONNNNGGGG wait for nearly 3 years of driving only mondeos. If it wasn't for people like yourself and Andy_R lending me shots of nice motors then i am sure I would have lost the will to live!

I have some parts that I am looking at for the car - Its a little different with these BMW's as I cant readily find what the good parts are that I should use.

I had a quick look through Demon Tweeks online site and found some nice ride height and damping adjustable Bilstein suspension at around Ł1200. I have me eyes on two sparcoEVO bucket seats. I am in conversation with the owner of a set of nearly new AP 6 pots and have my eyes on a set of wheels too.

I think that those basics should make it possible to have a good go at the nurburgring in Easter.

The only problem I foresee is that this motor wont be able to go much faster than 8:30 bridge to gantry without some serious mods - but thats yet to be confirmed!

Remember demon tweeks are a fucking rip off!!

Will this be a daily drive? Funny having such a nice car with 2 buckets etc

Suspension, brakes and wheels will be sweet

Do you read EVO? One of the writers is building a ring car M3 to crack 8 mins i think. Cant remember if its an evo version or not.

Chop - This wont be my daily driver. The v6 mondy bus will stay for regular running!

This car will be destined for a similar tour of duty to the Evo. Weekend madness and track action.

I used Demon Tweeks purely as a guide price to some of the goods as they had quite a quick website to use. I was originally just getting an estimate on the AP 6 pots and then started looking at some other stuff.

Whats making me laugh is the idea of looking for a total minter and then taking the interior out and either selling it or sticking it in the attic and replacing with two new bucket seats . I can see me at the point of purchase looking at the nick of the seats and if they are not perfect I might not be too happy - however its pointless as they are coming out as soon as I can get the buckets and figure out how I want to fit them

I quite fancy some loud exhaust as otherwise the "fans" will be disapointed as they wont have time to run down their garden paths to the road to wave as I go through their village

Heres hoping we can find a nice one and get all this set up asap

LOL - cheeky coont!

However, I will be looking for one. Brother's bought an M Coupe and after much arse out/bappage action, I want one! I've got to get shot of the MR2 first, and pay off a couple of debts, but should be good to go around Feb/March time.

In the meantime, whilst I'm looking, I will certainly point anything I see in your direction.

Sounds like you intend to build a nice useable fun car..... shotgun the passenger seat next time out!

PON:

I look fwd to doing battle on the track / public highway soon

I want to build something that has a pretty much standard engine, good brakes, good suspension and the safety of a cage, buckets n harnesses.

Get in it and go for it everywhere like the evo.

As for passenger seat - thats a certainty!

James - I saw that car on my searches.

It looks a good motor - do u think that servic history is up to date? Do they not need to be seen every 12 months? Either way I dont think that he would still have a bmw warranty if it wasn't up to scratch on the service history.

Does anyone reckon we could make that weird red look like a decent motor with some good wheels?!

Also James: Is that a real Evo? I thought the GT models were non evo? Or is this one different as its a GT2?

Cheers to all

The service is dependant on how it's driven, hard - lights go out quicker, slow - slower. 50 "GT2s" were made to commemorate the end of the E36 M3, M3 Evolution with cosmetic add ons. Nice cars in the flesh

Mate what are you trying to say???

To be fair i used it as they are designed to be and as you will too!

It didnt have a speed limiter and i checked quite a few times and it did tend to travel most places side on with smoke piling from the tyres!

Cracking car...just didnt accelerate hard enough for my liking!

Ollie:

Its kinda like a woman - u don't go looking for the one that has seen serious bedroom action - however it quickly becomes your own personal plan with her

Like the m3, I don't look for one that seen intense race track action, however thats my own long term plan

I have visions of a t4 or t66 conversion one day but Marty (aka dumped) is trying to convince me its a terrible idea that will involve my car sitting in a garage for 5 years lol.

Eil: As long as they look gd in the flesh I will pop up and see that one. What u reckon? Pay about Ł11k for it?

I spoke to a lad on here who has one and he said it spun a shell at 55k miles even tho it was a fully serviced engine?! thats not so good.

Cheers lads

Go see it and see what you think, bad time of year to sell and he'll know it. Offer 10k and work from there. As for the shell problem, it can happen, early E46s were plagued with it aswell. Some people say it's bad down shifting, but maybe just luck of the draw.
