got a pm earlier this week from doddsy saying he definitely wanted my zvh bottom end thats for sale,ok i said,no problem.then he wanted to meet in birmingham as he is in blackpool and im in wales so its a long way,i said i had NO money and if i was to meet him i would be paying for the petrol with a cheque as i really cant afford it,but with the cash from the sale i could sort it out,we eventually agreed to meet in gloucester as birmingham was miles further away from me.anyway,he said he would be in gloucester at 1 for definite,would definitely have the bottom end and he'd call when near to confirm directions. so,i trusted him,payed by cheque for petrol and promptly drove 120 odd miles to gloucester.i got there at 10 to 1,waited a bit........quarter past 1 came and went,i called my brother to see if he had pm'd me to say he couldnt come,or if he had actually said he was leaving blackpool at 1,not getting to glos at 1,but no,neither was the case,he should have been at gloucester for 1pm. i waited,waited some more,then finally at 2 oclock i left.i went to cheltenham(only a few miles away)to meet steve(itsmeagain) to show him the new motor.i kept my phone on me in case he called,and its now 10 past 5 and he STILL hasnt called not even to say sorry,i couldnt make it etc etc...NOTHING! and to top it all off my heater matrix blew this morning,and my clutch cable JUST broke as i pulled into my driveway.
so thanks!im now out of pocket for the petrol,ill get a letter from the bank asking why im over my overdraft,ill get charged for that too,i will have driven 250miles more than i wanted to(was going to stay at home and have a free weekend as im skint) and i now have to drive back home (100+miles) without a fucking clutch,youre my fucking hero!

its called punctuality and manners.i said i would be there at 1,i was there early.i didnt know if he had any credit left etc...therefore i showed incase he had lost his phone or couldnt contact me but was still making the long journey!,i gave him precise and easy instructions via pm so he could have got there easily.therefore i wasnt worried if he couldnt call for directions due to something happening. goes to show that being a man of my word doesnt always help!even when im going well out of my way to help others i get stiffed.

 

thats why its best not to just trust someone that is registered on here for 2 mins, and that you havent even spoken to,....

Unless i had the money up front or at least enough to cover my time and costs i wouldn't have traveled beyond my front door mate! This guy has very little to lose by letting you down as you don't know him from Adam and you don't even have his phone number to call and give him grief
It is shit when things like that happen but just call it a lesson and remember to only trust people whom you know or know of unless they put their money where their mouth is.

Recently we all went over the Amsterdam, doddsy said he was coming all along then pulled out at the last minute. He still owes one of the lads 80quid, who is not best pleased.. It was also looking that at the last minute I was paying the room over there for two people too, but luckily we got it changed..

Not a good way to go about really..
