You can convert images on your computer into emoticons.
On the Tools menu, click My Emoticons.
In the My Emoticons dialog box, click Create.
To locate and select the picture you want to use as an emoticon, click Find Image.
Type a unique keyboard shortcut that, when typed in the conversation window (The window you use to send and receive instant messages.) , will add the emoticon to your message.
Type a name for your emoticon.
Click OK.
Notes
When MSN Messenger stores your new emoticon, it automatically resizes it to 19 × 19 pixels. (Custom or premium emoticons resize at 50 × 50 pixels.)
You can use the following file formats to create custom emoticons: JPEG, BMP, GIF, and PNG. Animated GIFs are acceptable as well.
Do not assign keyboard shortcuts that are subsets of other emoticon keyboard shortcuts. For example, if you assign the keyboard shortcut "cat" to an emoticon, and then assign "cat1" to another emoticon, using the shortcut "cat1" may not result in the emoticon you assigned it to.
If you create or install a lot of emoticons, you may have more than will fit on the emoticon menu. To make sure a particular emoticon always appears on the emoticon menu, click the emoticon, and then click the Pin button.
On the Tools menu, click My Emoticons.
In the My Emoticons dialog box, click Get More Emoticons.
Follow the instructions on the MSN partner site for creating or downloading the emoticons you want.
Notes
You can only delete emoticons that you have added. MSN Messenger standard emoticons cannot be removed.

They are annoying as fuck!!
Some birds i speak to, i seriously have no clue what they are saying because of all the shite that appears when they type certain combinations of words!!
Rename them appropriately, and only use them when you mean to, not in every bloody word!!!
