Default LHD 4x4 Steering rack

I'm in the middle of fitting a 2.9 24v cossie into my LHD 3door. But the problem i came across was fitting a 4x4 crossmember in palce of the 2wd one. Does anyone know where i'll get a power steering rack for the LHD 4x4 in the UK
I've seen some group A racks but at £700 they are way out of my price range.

I'm in no hurry for it now as i have a 2wd sump to fit the engine for now so i can use the 2wd crossmember for now. If you find one cheap let me know thanks.

OK, so why do you want to fit a 4x4 cross member and rack?

The 4x4 crossmember is light than the steel 2wd one. Also at some piont i want to try the car with 4wd.

you're right, it is. it's stronger in some ways as well. i'd leave it rwd, but that's just my preference

i'll be in touch with a mate in germany, and see what he can do. can it be any 4x4 sierra? there were quite a lot of 2.0 DOHC models over there, but not so many v6's (although i had one, my estate that is now cossie powered and rwd - and i gave the complete running gear away to turboflush off here)

The cosworth rack has a ratio of 2.4 turns lock to lock where as all other 4x4 have a bigger 2.8 lock

I have a Cosworth 4x4 LHD rack in my garage - only problem is that its been stripped to fit new seals - any good to you in bits ??? easy enough to build back up if you have a manual
